The waiting is almost over as the best young indoor hockey players around the country converge on Durban for the Pro Series Indoor North Junior Nationals. There is once again a huge level of excitement as many youngsters begin a PSi journey that will last for the better part of the next decade.

The SPAR South African Women’s team, sponsored by Tayla Sportswear, will be taking part in a selection camp at the same time offering the youngsters of PSi a glimpse into their dreams of the future. Something at Pro Series Indoor we completely endorse, dreaming.

It was at PSi that the Indoor Hockey World Cup top goalscorer Kiana Cormack first took to the field and impressed. It was at PSi Nationals that Tegan Fourie from the Panthers took on Jamie Southgate from the Seals year after year before standing side-by-side for the National team. The likes of Liam Hermanus, Cheree Greyvenstein, Cody van der Merwe, Rusten Abrahams and Ryan Julius to name a few learnt their indoor hockey trades before taking them to the International court.

Pro Series Indoor Nationals offers the stars of tomorrow the opportunity to start working on those dreams today. Who will take their first step to making their dreams a reality?

With the Junior Nationals taking place in Durban in 2018, we already know that the weekend will be an absolute celebration of the spirit of indoor hockey, unlike anywhere else in the world. With the dominance of Kwazulu Natal Raiders in indoor hockey in South Africa over the past decade, the hosts are an appropriate destination to identify the stars of tomorrow.

There is also an added element of intrigue this year after the 2019 split of the North and South Junior regionals. It offers an interesting development as different teams vie for the top spot and the opportunity to stake an early claim as the Franchise of the year.

After the weekend of hockey there will be moments of massive excitement, momentous goals, epic rivalries, brand new friendships and of course a great celebration of the spirit of Indoor Hockey.
