The Pro Series Indoor has created dreams, it has helped those dreams become reality and over various difference pieces we have highlighted players that have come through the Pro Series Indoor and ended up playing International Indoor Hockey. Of course, though, there are some extra special talents at the PSi and in this piece, we highlight the players who are playing at this year’s PSi while already capped Internationally.
Aiden Tun made his debut in the second half of the test series against Switzerland last month and faired incredibly well for the hosts. The South Africans were superb throughout the series winning the six matches 5-0. Look forward to watching him at the Indoor IPT in February / March next year.
There has been much written about Cassiem and rightfully so. He wowed the crowds at the Indoor IPT in October 2018 which was enough for a national call up but had to wait until a year later to get that debut. He has been the All-Star player for PSi a few times and if you watch him you know there is something special there. Also just netted a hat-trick on his international debut.
Arguably the flag bearer for players making international debuts while still part of the PSi Nationals. Cormack headed to the Indoor World Cup with very few realising how good she was. She came home with a new nickname as Penalty Cormack en route to the top goal scorer award and continues to shine since.
The now 16-year-old made his debut alongside his brother Dakota at the historic Pro Series Indoor game in Harare in Zimbabwe in 2018 as a 15-year-old and scored in his debut game. He is currently starring in the U16 tournament, so we still get to enjoy him for a little while longer on the PSi courts
The Gauteng Gryphons coach and star made an immediate impact on his arrival on the International stage against Switzerland netting in his first and third games for South Africa as he was part of three wins in his three caps. There is so much excitement surrounding Simons, rightfully so.
The five players above prove that you don’t have to wait for your dreams to become a reality, a lesson that many of us can learn from!
